Tracy Meets Katie

I believe in the power of thoughts. These are powerful cosmic waves. When sent out into the universal sea of energy we live in, the ripple comes back to you and gives you back a doze of similar essence.
Hence, this guest post has found me well.
A kindred soul.
Gratitude to Katie Moore.

Nurturing Infants
Welcoming a child into the world is a magnificent experience for any new mom. Throughout pregnancy, expecting moms are required to sustain good nutrition and take care of their bodies to provide a healthy environment for the baby to develop. Mothers can also prepare for the health of their little one by making decisions on options like pain management methods, circumcision and cord blood banking. However, good nutrition and proper care does not stop once a baby is born. Babies require a great deal of nurturing and nutrition throughout their lives, and moms are the ones who need to provide that. To ensure their baby is as healthy as possible, moms need to know what and how much to feed their infant, and how to keep their infants as healthy as possible.
Breastfeeding
Experts recommend that new moms breastfeed as long as possible. The nutrients found in breast milk and colostrum, which is what a produced just after giving birth, are extremely beneficial to infants. The antibodies found in colostrum are designed to offer health benefits such as protection from illness and disease to infants. Three to five days postpartum, colostrum turns into breast milk, which has exactly the right amount of nutrients an infant needs to maintain his or her health.
Formula Feeding
Though experts and health professionals recommend breastfeeding, feeding an infant baby formula will accomplish the same goal – ensuring the baby receives essential nutrients to grow. Although formula provides adequate nutrition it has been found that formula-fed babies do tend to have more diarrhea and more ear infections than other babies.
Nurturing
Mothers need to nurture their infants to ensure that the child is healthy, happy, and well adjusted. There are many forms of nurturing that mothers can engage in. The most basic forms of nurturing include feeding and comforting a baby. However, there are plenty of other ways moms can nurture their infants. One way is through responding to a baby’s cries. Some believe that infants become spoiled from being picked up as soon as they cry. However, infants, particularly those in the very early months of life, will feel safe and calm if their mother responds to their cries immediately.
This response is a great way to nurture a child and to let the child know that his mother is always nearby and able to care for the child when need be. Additionally, new moms can nurture their children by singing to them, talking to them, and providing them with new experiences, such as new sounds, new smells, and new touches.
For a mother, a new baby brings about many changes to her life as she works hard to provide her child with the best foundation to grow on. By nurturing her child and providing the best nutrition, her baby will be growing quickly into a healthy lifestyle.
