Co- Sleeping?

My almost 18 month old baby finally learns to falls asleep on her own and in our room!-- I am blogging this amazing moment because our room is the last place she would want to sleep nights in even with a co-sleeper back then! (But morning and afternoon naps she is able to).
Well, she sure showed us! :)

Just when other folks try to wean off their tiny tots out of their bed and onto their own beds, it looks to be the other way around for us. We didn't force her, it just happened. Just now, she gave out an irritated cry as I tried to carry her back to her own room. Oh well! our room it is!-- for now! :)

My Moon Baby

I know she's only 17 months, but where does the time go?

She walks, she talks her own jargon, she makes up names for different family members, she knows how to make sounds the farm animals make, she flips through her picture books, she perfects her farm animal puzzles, she imitates what she sees, she knows how to play the iPad, she memorizes the scenes of her favorite movie cartoons (Finding Nemo and Shark Tale), she's sensitive, she loves to cuddle and kiss, she's very loving, and she's the friendliest toddler I know!

What's your baby milestone?

Coos and Aahs

My darling moon-baby is already 2 months and 2 days old into this world. As I greet my daughter in the morning I am greeted back with smiles and the most adorable cooing and aah-ing that just melts my heart.
As I play with her, I look at her lovingly. I am humbled by this little guru who teaches me, who reminds me, who makes me aware, that we are far richer than we realize. Everyday can be beautiful. All you need is a change in perspective. Thank you for waking up mama with these precious hints my brave little soul. Don't ever stop. You truly are my greatest earthly inspiration. Thank you, I love you!

Baby Milestones

I know this is as cliche' as it sounds but time does fly by soo fast!

Just last 2011 November 29 my husband and I became proud parents to our beautiful moon- baby girl Chandra Angela L. Que.

Having chosen her name means moon in Sanskrit. The reason being was, I was oddly drawn to the moon during my healthy pregnancy with her. Her second name, Angela, for being the junior to her father's name Angelo.

As I mentioned in one of my older posts when she was still in my belly was that I could never imagine such fierce love for them both! And now it's even intensified especially when she was born!

My two greatest loves indeed!! You both are God's greatest blessing ever given to me in my life! I love you both soo very much!

To My Unborn Little Love

My Darling Angel,

Whether you are a boy or a girl, love has created you. And now my whole world revolves around you. Each little stirring that happen within make me so aware of you. I feel deeply connected to you as I feel your tiny kicks and your little stretches. It gives me comfort to know that you are alive and well in my womb. It is you that keeps me calm; it is you that gives me peace. So everyday I pray for your safe arrival into this world and I look forward to holding your little self in my arms and feed you from my bosoms.

As my belly grows bigger each day your papa looks at me with delight and calls me his sexy "baby bump." It makes me feel good and womanly. Your papa will be the greatest father there is and you will love him dearly. He is excited to meet you, you are just a few more months away.

Being pregnant, I am just so filled with such a fierce love and closeness to you and your dear dad. This is the kind of magic you bring upon us. You truly are our little guru.

I am smiling down on you everyday and flooding you with all the good energy, radiance and health the universe can give.

Love always,

Mum

Honeymooning

A 5 nights and 6 days honeymoon took place in the beautiful island of the Maldives.. We basked under the sun, dined under the stars, swam and snorkeled the deep blue, and watched the sunset and dolphins together..

..And now, savoring the last day by the pool before we head back tonight to the daily grind of things..

Just us in our own little world, we live and we love wholeheartedly! I will forever cherish this beautiful moment.

Where We Love Is Home

Angelo and I just recently purchased our very first home. This is how it looks in the front. I am so happy, and excited to share this piece of news. It's not a house mind you, but instead, a spacious 3- bedroom old-fashioned condo. The third room is a spacious loft.

During the 80's, the cut of the units were much, much bigger compared to the modern units being sold now. Hence, this is where we feel lucky. Instead of feeling all boxed up in a tiny room, we have amples of space. Also, no elevator rides for us (which is great), just a friendly flight of stairs that lead to the top most floor which is the 3rd floor.

Both pictures on top is all I could show you for now. The front and top most part is where our future sacred space is located, and it extends all the way until the 4th window that you see. Also, that's the parking garage just below it with the dilapidated sides which we will fix just as well. The length, width and height of the place is very ideal for us. Truth be told, we were never really comfortable living in a high rise building of 30 or 40 stories!

The pics already give you an idea of how ruined it is, and how the crumbling of the walls and roof come with age and lack of maintenance. What we saw on the inside was just the same-- a major wreck! A run down, beaten up, and uncared for waste of space. Some people may not even give this place any chance at all after seeing it. Well, not for us. Aside from the major wreckage, Angel and I saw huge potential. We saw a hidden possibility lurking somewhere in there waiting to be let out. What we saw has given us the inspiration to build a simple home that will be eco-conscious, cost-efficient and low-maintenance. All this without compromising on our preferred style which is "minimalist, loft-living inspired."

With our independent lifestyles, Angel and I are all "fired-up" with aesthetic yet practical ideas to create one "GREEN" home.
This will be the biggest renovation of our young lives! :)

Another major reason that contributed to our choice of living here, is the area in which it is situated in. It doesn't feel like living in urban jungle Manila. To access our neighborhood, you have to go through a wide road which is about 1 km long. Being this far away from the hustle and bustle of the main expressway, a sort of peace and solace start to find you the moment you enter. Plants and trees lead you inside. And in the mornings, birds chirping greet you as you wake. Having been born and raised in the provincial part of Philippines, this is as close to home as I will ever feel. Someday though, Angel and I hold that promise of moving back to where I grew up and live a quiet, natural life. But that is in the distant future and an entirely different blog to be told.

With this comfortable and homey place that we have found, a community that is not so big and family-oriented come with it. This is ideal for us since we definitely plan on starting a small and unspoiled family in the near future.

If this is living in the big bad city, this is where we choose to be. This is a place we can call home.

I am smiling big as I write this blog. One day I'll post pics of our new and humble abode. Meanwhile, stay tuned for more on my blog! :)

Love and Peace to all!!

Two Celebrations

To my best friend, lover and husband, allow me first to greet you a happy 3rd wedding anniversary, you are what completes me. And at the same time acknowledge a happy father's day to my best man. It's been two years since our sad journey with Matthew, and I just want you to know that this still makes you very much a dad with an angel for a son in heaven. My two boys, I love you both very much!

St. Omer, France (Open De Saint-Omer Tournament)

A provincial place where the air is fresh, and the climate much colder. A community more peaceful, clean and less hectic than Paris. Many say that there is nothing much to do. I don't mind it at all. I actually enjoy it. I love the fact that it is calm, quiet and mellow over here. Even the people (I feel) are much nicer and more attentive. Despite being a small event and quite far from the city, it is well worth coming to this place. To play in European soil once again is always a great experience.

The tournament week has begun. It is a Thursday and my Angelo is teeing off at 2:20pm. It may sound kind of late if you're used to Asia, but the sun sets really late over here. My guess is because it is summer? At 8pm the sun is still shining bright and it gets dark around 10:30pm. Every time I look out my hotel window, the cold summer nights are short, and I see longer days.. So as I write, it is almost 6pm and I am sitting by the terrace of the hotel, sipping my cup of tea and waiting for my beloved to finish on the 9th hole (he started on the back 9 first). Luckily it is a beautiful day today. The weather is just great albeit the weather forecast for today which was suppose to be windy and cold. Three days ago it was quite chilly when we arrived. Hopefully this is a good sign for us. As always, every event of my Angelo I pray for good days.

It is Friday and second round of the tournament. Just looking at the scores, my Angelo won't seem to make it. As always, I'm the one that feels sad and awful for him. But to him its just another week. So now we move on to the next tournament. I, with a heavy heart (which I will get over soon enough) and my love, still remains happy even though he's missed the cut. That's what I love about him. Always persevering, optimistic and finding the good in everything. Don't ever lose those traits my beloved.

Thankfully, our hotel room is complimentary for the week. Now my hubby's weekend is free to just relax with me. On Sunday is also our 3rd year wedding anniversary (June 20). We leave for Chantilly on that day and get a head start on practice. We plan on celebrating our blissful union after.

Thank you anyway St. Omer for the lovely experience. Without losing any confidence, my husband has learned a lot, and again has discovered new and better things with his game. Let's bring this new found feeling to the next tournament, shall we?

Back to Paris on Sunday! Bye for now!

Simple Cooking My Husband Loves.

My husband is a simple and easy man to please. The things I do like cooking at home makes him happy and excited to come home after a day at his "office," which is the golf course. We like eating out but he says, food cooked at home is always the best even if it is out of the can. So for lunch today I decided to make his favorite-- steak. While he was out playing a tournament, I kept myself busy. I went for a morning grocery run of steak and veggies. I opted for spinach for our greens, black rice, tuna meatloaf, spicy sardines and our left over corned tuna pasta for lunch. Since I have been avoiding red meat now, a meal of black rice, sauteed spinach and fish hits the spot for me. The steak was all for him. I got lucky that the meat I bought was tender. It was a hit! He loved everything I made for him. Nothing fancy and cooked in the most simple way, filled with lots of love as the main ingredient. Just looking at him enjoying his food and telling me he loves me so much is the best thanks I could ever get.
