Co- Sleeping?

My almost 18 month old baby finally learns to falls asleep on her own and in our room!-- I am blogging this amazing moment because our room is the last place she would want to sleep nights in even with a co-sleeper back then! (But morning and afternoon naps she is able to).
Well, she sure showed us! :)

Just when other folks try to wean off their tiny tots out of their bed and onto their own beds, it looks to be the other way around for us. We didn't force her, it just happened. Just now, she gave out an irritated cry as I tried to carry her back to her own room. Oh well! our room it is!-- for now! :)

My Moon Baby

I know she's only 17 months, but where does the time go?

She walks, she talks her own jargon, she makes up names for different family members, she knows how to make sounds the farm animals make, she flips through her picture books, she perfects her farm animal puzzles, she imitates what she sees, she knows how to play the iPad, she memorizes the scenes of her favorite movie cartoons (Finding Nemo and Shark Tale), she's sensitive, she loves to cuddle and kiss, she's very loving, and she's the friendliest toddler I know!

What's your baby milestone?

A Poem For My 1 Year Old

One year ago today,
A little being came into the world
I must say.
You changed our lives forever,
A dull moment with you--NEVER!
So this I'd like to say,
...
You're are my daughter, my love and my light
You bring me joy each and every sight.
You are our little guru, our ultimate dream
For you have just made us a wonderful team.
I can't help but feel blessed,
By your presence, you bring out our best!
Happiest birthday my darling moonflower!
Thank you for being born!
Thank you for choosing us to be your parents!

To Cuddle Or Not To Cuddle

All babies are unique indeed! Case and point: my very spirited daughter, Chandra!

As soon as my baby girl learned how to crawl, sit up straight, stand up and is now discovering how to walk, suddenly cuddling and hugging has become out of the question.

It's a challenge now having to just hug her and even make her lie down in my arms. She gets furious and really squirms her way out of there. To me, It looks like she's afraid of missing out on the exciting things. It's like she doesn't want to waste anytime being cuddled when there is so much to see and play with. The only cuddle time I get from her is when I give her the bottle (which is the only time she can sit still on my lap), when I'm holding something in my hand and she's trying to take it, or when she is really tired and sleepy.

Its a little hard to accept that maybe my baby really isn't a cuddler? or a hugger? But instead an active explorer, who is an independent little soul.
I know I should be happy with these traits my baby is radiating but sometimes I just can't help being a mom that wants to be needed.

To make me feel better, I'd like to think that because she knows where the love is coming from and we've made her feel safe and secure enough are the reasons why she is who she is. And all I can do is respect that and hope
that one day when she's older, she would at least want some cuddles from us.

To all parents: What are your baby's unique traits? - Infinite Blessings Beautiful Soul! Hari OM!
