And now that I am more enlightened, there is more to it than just aroma. These essential oils especially organic (never synthetic) when used properly have many therapeutic effects that heal the body in the most natural way. At the same time because it is so natural, it gives our body a chance to re-learn how to heal itself as nature intended it to do.
These organic essential oils are very easily absorbed by the skin and most of them are edible to eat.
How I got into it (again)?...
It all happened when I couldn't bear the thought anymore of constantly applying steroidal creams and ointments on my baby's skin every time she had an insect bite. She is allergic but that won't stop the insects from biting her. As a mother, as much as I want to protect her from that, I just can't. She will be bitten somehow. And then there was the cold and flu that attacked baby and I and the whole household. And then there was my husband's really bad and chronic sinusitis.
This is where it began, and this is where I feel blessed. I was meant to have crossed paths with a yogini; who happens to be an aromatherapist for 20 years; and, is now a dear friend whom I consult with most of the time.
The essential oils she sent, and the blended oils she concocted for my family and I worked so fast it was unbelievable.
This validates my love and belief even more for natural and organic products. And as my friend puts it, we are all blessed by the spirits of the medicinal powers of plants .
The only downside I could think of is, this natural way of healing can be costly. But if you think about it, you just can't put a price on health.
My mission now is to help spread the word on how wonderful the "real" aromatherapy is, and it's amazing therapeutic effects on the human body.
The organic essential oils that are my must-haves in my home now:
Eucalyptus Radiata
